I was just talking to my daughter about this yesterday….I’m 63…for my entire life the biggest political scandal in the US has been Nixon/Watergate. What’s going on now makes Watergate look like child’s play….despicable 😡

What's different is Trump has a brainwashed cult that don't care how many laws he's breaking. Propaganda is out of control and with AI it's going to be harder and harder to get the truth out. I have never been as afraid for us as I am now. 😢
If you limit "Watergate" to the actual break-in, perhaps. If you understand that the burglary was just one part of Nixon's desperate criminal operation to conceal his 1968 treason and his attempts to destroy Daniel Ellsberg, it becomes more than just a break-in and cover-up. Still, what's going on
now seems much worse (and probably is). But I'm old enough to remember "Watergate" (along with what we've learned about it since 1974), and it was as much an all-consuming nightmare back then, in its own way.

Disagree. Watergate at its core was a street crime. A burglary. Then there was a cover up. Nixon was aware of both. Far worse. Whatever President Musk and Donald are currently doing is Constitutionally prohibited and may compromise our institutions, and are questionable. 45% want that. Voted for it.

I grew up in Watergate. Wallowed in it. Even went to Alexandria Virginia to listen to the Nixon tapes. It is far worse because Trump destroyed the institutions that enforced the law.
I was so addicted to those hearings! I hated him so much and to see his own party hold him accountable was amazing. Plus I kinda had a crush on John Dean 🤣
