Love this series. My only issue with it is how they handled the story of Albert Blithe. The real Blithe had quite a long and successful career as a paratrooper. Otherwise it's an excellent series that I rewatch at least every other year.
Here's just some of the WWII Movies that I have watched
Sink the Bismark
The Battle of Britain
The Longest Day
PT-109
12 O'Clock High
Wake Island
Guadalcanal Diary
Fighter Squadron
Air Force
The Dam Busters
Malta Story
Sahara
Run Silent Run Deep
Tora Tora Tora
A Walk in the Sun
The Cruel Sea, a black & white classic, the Battle of the Atlantic from day 1 to the end. One of the best WWII movies ever made.
Every Brit and Canadian should see it for the sacrifices of crews on the tiny escort frigates and convoy sailors. Strong story telling - not just a war movie.
Flower Class Corvettes, not frigates. My wife's grand dad served in one for the RC Navy.
These were pre-war whaleboats made in a hurry with no ventilation below decks; very seaworthy but constantly rolling. Note the mast in front of the open bridge - perfect for winter in the North Atlantic!
My daughter noticed that all good war movies are antiwar movies.
Cross of Iron (James Coburn, James Mason on the collapsing Eastern Front); Siege of Firebase Gloria R. Lee Emery (Tet Offensive); We were Soldiers Once, and Young (Vietnam); The Duelists (Napolianic Wars).
Sergeant York. He was a conscientious objector who was drafted and went to war. Ended up one of the most decorated soldiers in WWI. He didn’t want to fight, but when it came down to it, he kicked ass and made a real difference. We can all take a cue.

1967 ‧ War/Action
Excellent so far.
'Full Metal Jacket' was a film my dad always considered the most realistic to his war experiences.
'Buffalo Soldiers' always reminds me of my own military experience.

A 'war' movie that stopped a war from happening - the best kind.
