If that happens the country should be on lockdown as in nobody leaves until the flu season is over, if everybody who flees the cold on a vacation in Mexico, Spain, Bali or wherever else spreads new strains across the globe, shit may hit the fan with new mutations. This shit head dumbass...

On the flu thing, I found this reassuring. It's not *great* that the US might not recommend flu strains for this year's vax, but that doesn't mean there won't be a flu vax at all this year in the US:

This is the one that genuinely scares me the most. A flu came *entirely* too close to killing my mother about a decade ago, and that was with the vaccine.

Rah is very often a voice of sanity for complex things I am half-aware of, particularly tech (content moderation, social media tech, tech & free speech & law) stuff and disability/health stuff like this.

I appreciate knowing when it's not time to panic yet!
