Some of us can’t even get SSI. The gray area between “too disabled to work but not disabled enough for benefits” that many of us with invisible and misunderstood illnesses fall into is not great. The system was fucked before and is only getting more so.

"people should start saving now" is an awful shitty thing to say to the 7.5M disabled people on SSI who legally cannot save more than $2k without losing their benefits which are a max of $943 a month to fucking begin with
