I have always felt Kemi Badenoch is an absurd combination of being a bit of a production line of esoteric/out-of-touch takes, which suggest she's some kind of deep, alternative thinker, then she goes into detail and it's all just rhetoric with no substance whatsoever. She is Reform's greatest asset.
I don't think it's anything to do with Twitter, sadly. This worldview is one shaped by a short attention span, an vastly inflated view of her own importance and being devoid of empathy but chock full of ambition!
The idea of the LibDems being a protest party has some truth to it*, but this has been shaken up since culture started to displaced economics as the main political divide. Brexit has a lingering damaging effect here - and no one in the Conservatives wants to face up to this
*(Many constituencies are too rightwing for Labour/too left for the Tories to stand a chance at election, so the centre-right tended to congregate to the LibDems in LAB safe seats and centre-left in CON seats, which gave the LibDems a split-personality "protest party" character. Brexit changed that)
