What happened is he entered that arena when technically incompetent boomers had buckets of cash and were terrified about their own lack of understanding.
Same thing happened to me in 1994 when I was one of nine people who knew HTML in an entire city.
He was good at baseball stats. He used that to predict an election fairly well, then basically grifted off that ever since.
The issue we have is that a person doing a smart thing once wont usually be brilliant at everything or right forever, but our society doesnt seem to get that
They will *never* be brilliant at most things and will be wrong about lots of things. There is also a lot of right gift/right era luck that comes into play with their initial success.
This point is especially ironic because an actual confident person, regardless of gender, isn't threatened by consulting knowledgeable people and isn't afraid to admit a mistake. Toxic masculinity is simply a ridiculous, performative pseudo-manhood based on insecurity.
Also, with any system if there's an aspect to be gamed for benefit it'll be gamed. Once polls showed some relevance, they gamed the hell out of them and now they can't be trusted.
I think he got 48 or 49 states right. Back then, that was a really big thing. People forget there was a time when we didn’t know what to make of polls, and he did have a good system. Obviously he’s lost the plot since then

If a WOMAN said literally ANY of the BS Dump & Musk spout, they'd put her in a mental institution. (And did in the past.)
But then he went really deep into creating this elaborate polling system that basically is useless and sold it for a ton of money
