Call it the care economy, call it a pink new deal--we'll work that out later. The point is that the fash are going after a place where we're strong, and there's a feeling that goes far beyond union membership that there's not just something to defend there, but also something to grow.

"Industrial democracy" brought together a popular front of different actors (pols, labor, artists, the odd capitalist like FDR) with necessarily different views (from reds to good old boys) but it kept them together long enough to beat the Nazis and build the new deal and the CIO. That's the goal.

So you might think that the new soviets will rise in our schools, or that we just need to stop confining our elders to warehouses, or a million other things. But we know where the action is. Just need to bring people together there. As usual, Karen Lewis taught us.

Definitely needs to be a collective collaborative effort from the “ground up/ the people” as most of our elected officials seem to have lost their spine or backbone to standup and fight back.
