Didn't think I could love this woman more since I first heard her sing in the early 70s, my admiration for her has no bounds. Saor Alba 🏴 🏴
It's amazing that of EVERYTHING that this shitty horrible campaign has said, that childless cat lady is the one that's sticking harder and longer than just about anything else. No amount of daily news blitz has made people forget.
Coincidentally, I was listening to her in Pirates of Penzance last night. Still my favorite version (especially the Police Sergeant) even though it offends Gilbert and Sullivan purists.
I was raised on G&S (my dad had original D'Oyly Carte recordings he played often) and I can't imagine being offended by that version. I went to see it in the theatre several times (unfortunately after Linda left the cast, tho).
My mom was an Italian opera fan, so that’s all we heard growing up.
I didn’t see The Pirate Movie, is that what it was called, until a few years after it came out. Introduced me to the delightful music of Gilbert and Sullivan.
My parents had this album on cassette and would play it so frequently on long car trips that I don't speak Spanish but I could still sing along with all the songs.
Text on white background with no alt text (which is affected dark mode).
I now have a migraine because of that. Can't always turn my eyes away in time, and this time muscle memory made me click on it. I am not exaggerating in the least. /literal
Imagine if businesses could refuse customers on the basis of not liking their politics. You'd have website designers refusing to work for gay people and all sorts of crazy, and there's no way the Supreme Court would stand for that.
She doesn’t own it, it’s a municipal building named in her honor. The Ronstadt family is one of the oldest families in Tucson politics, so the name is actually on buildings all over town.

Oh...
You're still not anywhere close to a coherent cause of action here.
