Oh heavens above... Hey, UK person here. RGB SCART cables were always extremely common. You just bought them from a regular shop and plugged them into the TV. It wasn't a specialist hardcore ultra gamer thing, it was a bit of wire that made your Amiga/MD/SNES/PS1, etc. look great on the telly.

Sorry, but this feels deeply revisionist to me. I worked in Dixons at the end of the 80s/early 90s, when DVDs were but a dream, and throwing a free SCART cable in with a new device (whether VCR or console or whatever) was a standard deal sweetener.

We need a bigger community for older people who want to play racing games online and I'M NOT KIDDING. We need racing games that reward checking your mirrors and indicating before overtaking, and slowing down and preparing to stop in front of the line at junctions...
