Yep. I’ve watched these eagles for years. A devastating omen of what’s to come. Even if it doesn’t manage human to human, it’s going to decimate our bird populations. This administration can pretend all they want, our chicken populations are still gonna die even if not culled.
In the original Planet Of The Apes films all the cats and dogs died from a mysterious illness so humans first used apes as pets, later they made them into slaves.

This is a case were you really don't need vaccines. You need regulations. You need chicken with decent living conditions like the rest of the world has specifically because of the bird flu.
I read about one in OH as well...it was injured and when examined found to have bird flu...then it died...I see the allegory...the eagles came back almost from extinction and they were proud and flourished and now dying...this corrupt nation is falling...

Someone on FB (I’m on MA) was screaming it to the rafters that eagles were eating what appeared to be infected ducks. She was widely ignored by fish and game. Infuriating.
so so sad - but if we keep going the way we are going, it won't be long before the innocent animals that deserve this miraculously gorgeous planet get to have it back without the evolutionary mistake of the human species.
We’ve had more than one bald eagle die recently and here in the southern part of MA, we had over 50 dead birds removed from a pond recently. It’s devastating.
We lost our two beloved SWFL eaglets (North Fort Myers eagle cam) at just over 6 weeks old, dying within a day or so of each other. Necropsy showed avian flu. They were thriving and it took them fast. Parents are doing well so far. It's a nightmare.

The start of a biological phenomenon is irrelevant- its the handling that matters. What the prior administration didn't do, was ignore and deny or actively dismantle our ability to contain the risk. But that's exactly what current WH is doing.

That's a metaphor. An allegory is an extended metaphor. like if JFK euthanized the bird by strapping it to his car to take it home, the eating it, contracting bird flu, and infecting the entirety of HHS. That's an allegory.

A DVM (veterinary medicine doctor) was saying avian flu is 100% fatal in birds and 67% fatal in cats. So you can't "save" him/her all you're doing is allowing it to infect other animals during it's limited time here. Unless new evidence came out...
Wasn't there a couple of baby eaglets in Florida that died from bird flu a month or so ago? There is a pair of adults in California that I follow who have three eggs which will hatch in about a month. I hope they will be safe.🦅💙

This bird flu epidemic reminds me of a story my brother told me about the day the government sprayed DDT. One day there were birds, insects and frogs calling in the forest, and the next day the forest was totally quiet. Paying more for eggs is the absolute least of our problems. Science team gone.
That's one of those things people will have a hard time believing that it actually happened, a few generations from now. It's too much of a dramatic omen.
