The chips look incredibly shoddy, which makes them likely to be cheaper to source sort-outs. Super bad look for @limitedrungames.com and @wayforward.bsky.social … I however still have my hopes up that the chips are proper voltage and the PCB layout is fine. What concerns me is that the condition of each chip is bad enough that we can't feel comfortable about their long-term lifespan. What seems fine now might not work 5 years from now.

And yes, I want to see an expert with the right tools look at it too. We need more data.

Not all of them seem to look as bad as these chips do, but if mine do, I‘ll surely open a warranty case towards their support. You should really do the same.

I'm quite sure the flash, cpld and FRAM chips are all right. A little dirty which may suggest they were sourced dubiously but it could easily be some other step during the manufacturing process. I don't think this PCB is "dangerous" to use but for $60 I'd like to see better QC from LRG

I'm guessing they got a good deal on bulk pulled chips, when I was hand producing repros before you could just buy some ready to flash cart that's what I would do. Was cheaper to just order in bulk from eBay, never had issues cuz it's how the chips are meant to be

AFAIK GBA doesn't suffer for the 5v/3.3v misshaps of other consoles, but I can be wrong.
