It can be enticing violate a contract, to get what you want. But there is penalty. The penalty in breaking the Constitution is, you can't get it back, once you have a dictator. Think of it like buying a stock you can NEVER sell. When it goes bad, you're stuck. My latest example:

Seems like lawyer disciplinary boards are a way of imposing some accountability here. Lying at press conferences can only be judged in the court of public opinion but lying to a judge in a court of law comes with real consequences. These lawyers should be made to face them.
