Truly ghosted. As if we hadn't pitched. As if they forgot they'd had a meeting. Of course, that means a pass. But the fact they couldn't call or email the reps to do so? That simple act that up until this moment in time was the rule, not a courtesy?

How do you not jot off a text of email? How do you have to be hounded by reps for weeks to call back? When you hear a pitch, it is your *duty* to respond. Good, bad, mixed - whatever it is, we're all adults, and we know how it goes. But you have to respond.

I'm still in shock over each and every time this has happened, and it has happened many many times. Some high up execs, some newer ones. Age and experience of all sorts. I know it's not personal, because it's the way we all live now. But it still feels personal - please remember that.

I appreciate the POV, but I guarantee you the parties involved have as highly respected reps as one possibly can. I think it's simply the absence of in-person meetings that has led to this.

I’ve been experiencing a version of this and it is incredibly demoralizing. I’ve genuinely been questioning whether or not it’s possible to make a career here anymore 🤷🏻‍♀️

On good days, I tell people "it's still possible, you just have to come at it in a new way" and on bad days I tell myself "yeah, maybe it hasn't changed so much as eroded." Stay strong if you can - the good days are what we need to cling to, not the bad ones!
