My niece got into making dolls with a bead head and wire pipe cleaner body that she covered with clothes (dress) and yarn hair for a while. I'd show you mine but it hung on a necklace on my rearview mirror for so long in Texas the glue all melted and she's pretty much bleached white now.

When my son was in high school, he got really into dating. I bought him 50 buttons that simply read “girlfriend” so he could keep track of who he dated.

Buttons have so many uses. Maybe a retro denim jacket in the future.

I've bought and extensively used the Tecre brand machines and they are rock solid, though I usually buy through https://buttonmakers.net and not direct from Tecre. I like the 2 1/4" standard size, but the 1 1/4" size makes "cute" little ones. They have pinbacks, magnets, and other stuff.

A circle cutter is nice to have if you're doing any sort of volume. I have the punch style ones. They are more expensive, but faster/less work than the rotary style.

A friend is doing this for kids who are already gleefully planning out a million different things they’re dreaming of doing for themselves, for friends, for events, etc. It’s a swell idea. May follow suit for my own crafty one in a few years.
