So many white folks from blue states fail to understand that a lot of Black and brown people feel safer in red states where they are the majority and where racism happens in explicit ways, instead of in the "safe" places where white folks pretend racism doesn't exist.

It’s not absent; it’s more subtle & subversive, and possibly more sinister because of that.
It is such a relief that I have NEVER ONCE been asked that in Texas. Never! I just blend in!
But it is so different than the rapid undercurrent of racism in Minnesota.
Corpus and Beaumont have their problems, but I miss the Brown and Black cultural diversity. A lot of that in Austin is packaged for a white audience.
I didn't get it then but I think about it a lot now. Pretty damning. A constant enemy causes less anxiety than an inconstant friend.
Go sit with your foot in your mouth for a minute and think.
Some people are so far behind in the race they think they’re winning!
First, let’s talk history.
What happened when POC moved to the north? What was the flight called?
Do you know there are democrat cities in the south? That some blue seats are southern?
people in the north don’t know how racist they are
and also there are POC in the south, and the blue cities feel safer than the north because of how unsegregated some of these cities are in comparison to somewhere like Minneapolis,
a city I love, but is so segregated
Y’all let the micro aggressions take root so deeply that there are northern Dems who ran against immigration! Jeez!
Do you exist with your brain disconnected?
You’re what, trying to tell someone that racism exists?
Do you even know what is being discussed here?
