I’ve decided I’m never going to watch the Frasier revival. Everything I’ve heard is bad and I don’t want to mess with my memories of one of my favorite shows ever.

Daphne and Roz, too. It was an ensemble, all the people needed each other for the humor to make sense. The new one has none of that cast magic, it isn't even smart, just full of itself...like it's MAGA dipshit lead.
Yeeeees! Literally what I was thinking. I also love early season, psychic vision Daphne. Most of her visions even come true, lol. And her family is priceless. Every single character on that show had some unique dynamic that played off somebody else, it was jazz
and then the one episode where DHP really let loose with the EMOTION over their situation - !!!
I cried and cried and still think about it sometimes...
Why do we need this? The show was great and ended well. Are studios so risk-adverse they can’t come up with something new but just as good? Lazy and Stupid.
I watched both seasons, first out of morbid curiosity, and then as a hate watch. It was not worth the time. But it only improved my memories of the original’s brilliance.
I have many thoughts. The revival will NEVER evoke the feelings the original did. It was okay, but felt forced and lacked creativity. The original I have seen no less than probably 500 times as I fall asleep to it.
My wife just read it was going to be shelved. So I guess no more seasons. I haven't watched it, mostly because the original was fantastic, and because we found out he's a supporter of the orange baboon.
Not taking anything away from Frasier — which I love — but I think 30 Rock holds that title. I remember Phil Rosenthal (Everybody Loves Raymond) saying something to that effect in an interview.
Not a qualitative judgment, just a quantitative one.
I ran out of half decent TV on a flight and new frasier was on the IFE. Couldn’t get through the first episode. Stared blankly into space muttering “my heroes are dead” for the rest of the journey.
Yeah, but it seems like I saw an episode later that they had changed him to straight. I could be wrong, but that’s what I’m thinking. He should’ve left it because his original Frasier show was very good. He was also in the show, BOSS. It was about the Chicago mayor and he did an excellent job.
I was surprised and impressed with his acting, but I think it was a limited series because you know they had him so sick there at the end he couldn’t recover so there was nothing more to do I suppose unless they could go back in time like they do sometimes and shows.
I watched a review and he turned into a jean-wearing super rich guy and his desire to be more affluent and distinct aversion to denim in the original show let me know this wasn’t for me.
So I bought the series on DVD and called it a day.
We just finished our first watch of Cheers, which holds up pretty well. We're going to watch Frasier at some point but are also planning on stopping once we finish with the original run. We've not heard anything good about the revival either.
I felt the same way but watched it as friends liked it. It's weak in a lot of ways - reliant on appearances from old cast members, poor casting in general - but I did really like Nicholas Lyndhurst. He does a great job making diamonds out of 💩
I’ve watched both seasons of the new Frasier. I’ve enjoyed the show thus far 🙋♂️ and have no problems with it. The interplay between Frasier & Freddy is fun, an analogy to Frasier with his dad Martin from the original show. Niles & Daphne are coming, as will the Cheers 🍻 cast & set if show continues.
A lot of comedy in the original concerned the disparity between the self-seriousness of Frasier, and how he actually lived his life as a radio psychiatrist who sweated the small stuff.
Here, Harvard faculty? No. He should have been “being frasier” at a community college because he got me-tooed
The original series was called 'Frasier', but it was really more Niles' and Martin's story than Frasier's. A perfectly balanced, insightfully written show, which they don't make anymore.
'Frasier' was always more than Frasier, and it's not worth watching without them.
I did subtitling on it, and I enjoyed it. It was a really nice change from hour-long procedurals.
Kinda bummed I won't get any more episodes to work on. They didn't send scripts, but everyone enunciates so clearly and I'm constantly googling how to spell posh things.
It is almost fine. I almost watched the whole thing, but it seems I will never finish it. I guess I find Niles more interesting than Frasier and his absence was too much.

John is my favourite old guy.

Watched a couple of episodes of the revival and 👎.
It can never be replaced.

It’s also been cancelled after season 2

The 1st one was magic in a bottle. The 2nd one is meh.
