My 4 reasons GenX sucks:

1) (h/t to Nefarious Means) GenX is the first generation where white men have had to compete with women / minorities on anything approaching an equal playing field. It's not what they expected and they aren't happy.

2) GenX grew up in the "greed is good" decade.

4) The violent urban crime rate of the 80s / early 90s reinforced the usual bigotries.

BTW, I am a GenX white guy. I grew up among Reagan Youth, and I worried about what they'd grow into.

You’re talking about WHITE suburbanite Gen X. I’m a large Black man the same age as the Central Park 5. I remember seeing that Trump ad calling for their death in the newspaper. My family hates Reagan & Trump & everything they stand for since back then.
