Because of that narrow margin you answered your own question but it's not going to make it to the Senate there's been enough up or there that it'll get shot down but anything can f****** happen anymore how about you go out there and start demonstrating if you're on already we need to get louder
I’ve already emailed my senators several times on this but since Dems don’t have the majority we’re doomed! Are republicans wives going to be happy they can’t vote? What a bunch of shit!! This will be going to court too!
Are you fuckin kidding me!! This passed Congress!!? Think must be challenged on the grounds of constitutionally illegal. There's so much more than just the exclusion of women. It essentially strips the right to vote from anyone who is financially unstable also.
In Florida they made us come in with our birth certificate to prove our citizenship to renew our license. Of course they didn't tell me I also had to bring in my marriage license. Which I had misplaced. Lucky I still live in the county I was married in. Not all women are so lucky.
OMG
People may have been warned but the election results don’t necessarily speak to how people voted or why they were too afraid to vote the election was hacked Period.
Russian bomb threats to largely democratic voting areas
Musk bribing people with badly needed $ hacking the voting machines etc
The SAVE Act passed the House in July of last year. But the Senate never took it up. So, this being a new Congress, it would have to be passed again thru the House in order for the Senate to take it up. https://www.axios.com/2025/02/11/save-act-what-to-know
1) "Acceptable documents, per the bill, are passports, government-issued photo ID cards that include an applicant's place of birth and REAL ID-compliant identification - enhanced driver's licenses or other documents that meet standards set forth in the REAL ID Act of 2005"
2) but it hasn't been passed, & doesn't prohibit married women that have taken their husband's name from voting. There's enough to be concerned about right now - let's not whip up a frenzy with misinformation.
States managed voting procedures historically including registering. Here’s Fed taking away states rights. Can states sue? Disenfranchising a significant # of voters from 1 demographic is illegal. Locally, Marriage Cert confirms married name. (Used to be, women cld not vote using maiden name!)
This is called lying with the truth. It hasn't passed the current congress, yet. It did pass last time but the Senate never took it up. We should all be concerned about this for sure, but it's not passed yet.

Oh
???!! so it was really just a ploy to keep women from voting?
Do more women vote for Democratic candidates?
