Well it is up to everyone to make their own judgement whether they want to continue using a company that lost its moral compass some time ago. I retain the right as a self-righteous arsehole* to point out that continuing to use it in any form has its consequences.

You should maybe understand that what is easy for you is not easy for others. Google has important features like Books for which there is no equivalent.

Also consider you are like the 500th person to make a comment like this to me and it's utterly tiring.

Have you looked at Kagi? I mean, does it do the kind of thing you need? I'm no longer in the tech industry and can't afford to spend the cash unfortunately. When I can, I will though. I've been paying for my email and my photo storage from independent providers for mannnny, many, many years.

Again, my feature needs are content-related, not quality of search. Until Kagi scans 6 million books and wins a lawsuit that goes to the Supreme Court, I am sticking with Google.

Google spent 15 years building the digital library of Alexandria then spent the next 10 enshittifying.

As far as I can tell, DuckDuckGo doesn't have a patent database. Until then, we need tools like this to make Google easier to manage.

I can't be sure but my presumption is the reason that works is not because of the swearing but because it makes the result less common. (This technique predates it by 6+ months.)
