Let's hope 5 is a masterpiece like 2 was. If it isn't, the studio will be gone and both Mass Effect and Dragon Age will have been killed by arseholes with no respect for art and culture.
Hard agree. ME2 is still a masterpiece in many other ways, but I will never not mourn the shooter-ification. Plus the soundtrack in ME1 was just better too.
I tried to experience it. There was a really good RPG in there somewhere, but it kept being interrupted by some weird minigame where you had to run down a long hallway shooting at things.

Absolutely agree! Mass Effect 2 is my favorite video game of ALL TIME! Jack being my favorite character in the series and my constant companion since I acquired her in the game!
Agreed, everyone should experience Mass Effect—not just for its great gameplay, but because it showcases how well-thought-out storytelling can shape entertainment without relying on purchasable emotes or celebrity endorsements.

ME is great. ME2 is a masterpiece. ME3 is a near-masterpiece (ending controversy aside, there’s a moment toward the end that was the most moving moment in the entire series and one of the most moving moments I’ve witnessed in all of gaming).
Well fun fact, even when I had absolutely no idea what it was like, I picked up the trilogy on Steam when it was on sale for like a fiver just cus it was, and only did so Id have it for the future since no way itll either run nor fit on my only laptop lol.

Despite some people’s problems with it, ME3 was the first video game that managed to make me cry so that alone makes it one of my favorite games of all time.
ME2/3 story progression (minus three’s latter parts) and Andromeda’s character progression would be the best thing ever. Good story with freely customized combat experience.
Completely agree, except the Mako there's a special place in hell for that thing 😂 the second (for me anyway) is one of the best action RPGs. It's up there with KOTR and Jade Empire (so underrated)
YouTube playthrough is also a thing. It's one to not want to support the evil parent company financially, it's another to miss out on a great story just on principle, even if it's justified.
Not a big fan of sci-fi to begin with and my partner had a hard time getting into it (similar tastes). I know it's beloved, I know it is a pillar in the gaming community, but I'd have to play a lot of other games before I get around to trying Mass Effect.
Replaying ME1 for the second time because apparently I played it wrong the first time and screwed up things in 2 and 3. Someday I’ll get to play them. lol
Tried the first one and it just didn't click. Combat was frustratingly clunky, characters in the Citadel seemed rote. It's been highly recommended to me though so I keep meaning to give it a second chance but... eh.
Tried to get into it, but I just can’t stand gameplay that consists of running around talking to dialog trees so much, and I didn’t really like the gunplay in the first one very much either. The world-building and characters seemed really good, but it just wasn’t doing enough for me.

I will never not be tilted that if you run out of thermal clips, you can't fire any more. The weapons can't cool on their own anymore. Very dumb.
Okay but why can't my gun cool slowly over time like ME1 if I don't have more thermal clips in my inventory.
You definitely lose some freedom, and gain some edgier writing, but it peels off so much chaff.
All 3 at once might make my head explode, so I will also add this to the list!

Bioware can't afford another commercial failure after Veilguard.
That being said, Mass Effect 2 is my favorite and usually regarded as the best one.
