🧵Per new state law, AZ cities were required to report a 5-year Housing Needs Assessment yesterday.
They must also publish a report with the number of units being approved and steps taken to meet housing needs.

This is definitely the most aggressive estimate in the reports we've seen so far.
We're still looking for many other cities. Let us know if you've seen one we've missed so far.
They link to a previous 2022 report which puts their current deficit at 7,976 units.
They seem to use their projected population growth instead of estimating future housing units needed (which is required by law).
Still a number of larger cities who have seemingly not published their reports (or have tucked them away in a dark corner of their websites)
