Thank you. It has been 5 years of making boxes though and working for myself. I loved making furniture, but it was both incredibly gratifying and occasionally demoralizing. I am wired such that mistakes I make on my own things I am fine, mistakes I make with other people’s things mess me up.

Hard agree! I think people assume I would want to make furniture incorporating epoxy but no thank you! People beat the crap out of their furniture and they don't realize it because wood is so great. I like my epoxy in small decorative pieces please and thank you😁

My husband and I stumbled upon a beautiful full wood coffee table at a consignment shop. That piece has done more damage to us (banged shins and stubbed toes) than we could ever do to it. I've always adored the aesthetic, but that table sold me on durability.

Ahh, those dressers are wonderful - I love the different sized drawers, but Oh, that table....? The brass line accents? It's so... *Sharp*, I love it. Like... an Art Deco design....? I might be completely wrong but gives me that vibe, in a way?

One of my own designs! Made this secretary desk for my aunt and uncle. I really like the details on this and the way the interior angles match the exterior profile. I will probably come back to this thread periodically to remind myself of the things I can do.💚

My wife would probably die for something like this. She loves antique secretary desks, but also clean modern lines. I love the integrated pulls, and again all the grain matching.

Make sure you get quartersawn. It is a little softer so it can dent but it’s like American lacewood. Beautiful and localish
