If you have EDS, you're generally supposed to avoid fluoroquinolones, like Cipro. They have a tendon rupture black box warning anyway.

Also, if you have a good doctor, discuss risks in terms of things like effect on ability to get proper nutrition and see if they advise any changes like a lower dose or a shorter period of time.

I believe TMS For a Cure has a list of meds that tend to be more and less safe but this stuff tends to be highly variable.

I learned some very critical information about antibiotics & probiotics. Namely, don't use probiotics to recover from a round of antibiotics! I have a very temperamental digestive system and one of my doctors (who actually took me seriously and didn't just shrug and tell me to eat yogurt) told me that microfurantoin is good for UTI/Bladder infections without totally messing up your gut. And this seems to be true for me.
