Was thinking the same thing. How he adjusts his angle wider instead of just straight at the net (which a lower IQ skater woulda done), not only forces the D to make a decision over more space, but bought Matty an extra ~2-3 feet of net by drawing the goalie to his placement. Smartypants hockey🤌

I'm both a Rangers and Kraken season ticket holder (long story) and everyone in Rangerland knew he was capable of this. We were all baffled by how the Rangers treated him and are all cheering for his success in Seattle.
