Fear and anger are helpful emotions as they warn of danger or unfairness. But we must stay grounded to hear the underlying signals in fear and anger. I am hopeful that panic around grants will diminish when NIH director is in place and gives direction. 2/3
Then we can focus our advocacy and figure out how to continue producing amazing science. Resiliency as scientists requires adapting to uncertainty. 3/3

But,will grant proposals from Blue states be disqualified? No JHU or Mayo?
Will only research that flatters the “dear leader” be funded?
What if yours is a🍊myth busting grant proposal? Like, No Cancer from Windmills, or Bleach is Poison. Or a cure for megalomania?
