The story doesn't end. The only way it gets replaced by one-person rule is if we are willing to be so ruled. If we can elect a better Congress we may hope to resolve this within the law

Congress can withhold funds. Congress can launch investigations. Congress can file amici in the many court cases. Congress can impeach. But that requires Congress to care, & Republicans in Congress have not cared about their jobs or their institution in my lifetime

It's definitely unconstitutional to encumber the *president's* power to appoint or remove inferior officers, but I don't see anything impeding the legislature's power to impeach & remove
