I live/d in Altadena (lost my house in the Eaton Fire) and last year happen to have read Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents which I bought at Octavia’s Bookshelf on Hill. I’m convinced she is a prophet. I feel like in Altadena we’re all practitioners of Earthseed now.

I've been thinking of Octavia Butler all week. The Parable of the Sower felt so prescient when I read it. I read all her books and cried when I found out she had passed and there would be no more books. I didn't know she's buried in Altadena.

No need. Thank you! Certain she is an excellent writer. Not my point. LA is a desert. FIRES have been an issue for a century. She did not predict anything. In fact, there was a MAJOR fire near Pepperdine University in Malibu just last month. Important to know history!!!
