And I agree its important to recognise optics. But I also find we're way to easily diverted into how things look rather than how they are. Case in point: 90% of reporting on the US election.
It also answers your question. People have voted in a fascist administration, so why wouldn't they invite an industrialist tycoon. Fascists always loved them.
It is taking away attention, it binds progressives in endless circles with reactionary trolls - and it normalizes discussing something that should not be discussed at all.
