I lost hope in humanity's 'leaders' a decade ago, or more. The world is utterly corrupt. An elite minority are in control, we 'the commoners' have no say. This has been the same story for hundreds of years, but now the stakes are higher, globalisation and technology have consolidated power 100x.

At least here we in the UK we had a chance of a fair election to decide for change. What’s disconcerting is the 100% ganging up v anything they now do by the media, and little support for socially +ve steps re health and education for example.

Did we? The only man who wants actual change is Corbyn. The right wing media successfully demonised him to the point where educated intelligent people in the UK saw him as an antisemite and a communist. A good man's political hopes were destroyed, along with it the hope of formative societal change.

The latest COP is the emblematic representation of how Western leaders, both Western and non-Western, in reality (with the exception of a few countries) have no interest in making "sacrifices" for the ecological transition in order not to damage their own economy and interests.

I can’t remember fully what the lady was saying; it was to do with both the number of women actually there, and also the lack of discussion about how climate disasters impact on families, child health etc, which of course usually women more often than not, have to deal with.
