Super glue follows the same rules of physics as glitter. Example: 3 people are crafting and one person adds glitter. How many people have glitter on their project? 9+. 3 people today plus 6 or more that use that table in the next year.

I just posted about that. Yikes! I hope you were okay. That one can be really bad. Also just the vapor of cyanoacrylates can be nasty in poor ventilation environments. Often people don't know that until it is too late.

This was back in January the early-to-mid 1970s when I was a young teen 🤦‍♀️ Emergency trip to an ophthalmologist; fortunately it was only on my sclera & not on my cornea (IIRC). Painful af, tho & did not like being a pirate while it healed. Still have the scar on my eyeball, LOL. LESSON LEARNED!

I was trying to glue a stupid little stone back into a stupid piece of costume jewelry I’d bought with babysitting money 🤦‍♀️ I was the first casualty the specialist had seen in person 🤦‍♀️

It wasn’t a mistake I’ve ever made again. And I’m so fortunate my vision wasn’t permanently impaired!

Some people don't, some people use epoxy. And some use a mix of epoxy and super glue (CA) I personally prefer just super glue.

It is used when you are propagating it, you need to use glue/epoxy to attach it to a rock or "frag plug"

It's why I wear safety glasses anytime I am using the stuff. It can get on you quite fast as it bonds to skin so well, and your eyes are one place you really don't want it. I am sure that sounds ridiculous to some, but maybe I have more exposure to industrial accidents than the average bear.

It's not ridiculous. In fact, I'll probably add a pair of glasses to my reef kit so I have them handy. I'm usually good about protecting my eyes, and I have a few cases where I didn't remember eye pro and regretted it....

So. Yeah. Probably need to add some to my reef PPE

Yep... I put a pea sized drop on a small piece of rock or ceramic then plop the coral on it and place it in the tank. It takes quite a bit, but I never touch it.... I swear!
