Facebook has access to your location on your phone. It has his location from his phone. The two of you where close to each other, so it suggested you as friends.

that has happened to me several times. it's like my phone picks up the other persons info. I don't have twitter, instagram or threads. I do have facebook (keep in touch with my non american friends), but only on desktop. It hasn't happened since I removed them all from phone.

If you have apple products..and did the latest update..go into settings then Apps and click off Siri for each of your apps. You have to do it for each one and all of your apple devices

There are a couple of things that could’ve happened if he tagged that he was in that hospital and you had tag that you worked at that hospital. They could’ve made the connection there. Or it could be just as bad as you’re thinking.

If you both had location services turned on in your FB app, it’s entirely possible FB would have connected you because of your close proximity. Go to your phone settings and turn it off.

potentially your personal phone was eavesdropping on work conversations? Another option would be location tracking, if you were both logged in the same location at the same time. In late stage capitalism we are the product, not the consumer.

You may want to consider turning off your locator on Facebook. They make it kind of hard to find out where that is, but you should be able to look it up.

Location alone wouldn't do it. If FB were doing that, we'd see an insane number of friend recommendations. There has to be some interaction.

But a phone call? That would also explain my experience.
