The administration’s position is perhaps a half step away from the full denial of their existence—it is more accurately a consensus that the US government should not be a provider of public goods, whether domestically or globally.

Also club goods. Things like single payer health care provide public goods (collective disease resistance), and consume private goods (supplies) but are club goods or common pool resources. Like gym membership. All pay into it & you use what you need. The privatization mindset obscures this value
