I agree that accessibility needs to be prioritized by journals, funders, and authors. And when choosing between two articles when other factors are more or less equal, the OA one is preferred. With that said, SoMe based journal clubs are in and of themselves an OA way of sharing knowledge

And so discussing articles is a way of making them and their content more equitably available. In the past when discussing articles that are behind a paywall, we will share the article with interested participants who need it via email
