That is very true. I guess my understanding is that in the “bathroom battles” those who ignore that trans people exist are ultimately focused on external anatomy. There is no single piece of evidence that settles the question they’re asking in all cases. There cannot be, because there is no such thing as birth sex; only a bunch of different correlates of it that usually but not always go hand in hand.

Anyway, the big question here is what happens if your assigned sex at birth is A and every piece of documentation you have access to says B. In theory, you’d just put A on the form and everyone would disregard the mismatch. In practice… that’s what we may find out if this isn’t enjoined soon.
