This is all tied into TESCREALism as well (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TESCREAL). I got caught up in transhumanism for a while in the early 2000s, back when Kurzweil was first pushing the idea, until I realized how socially toxic it was if you get past the science fiction trimmings.
