My thinking is that the AI on the dogs is currently broken - if you climb up onto something to become immune, they will all flee behind hard cover so you can't shoot them, which is... bizarrely intelligent and I'm sure down to something being broken somewhere. Haha yes, the pigs do this as well. I wondered if somehow breaks their pathfinding and if they don't see a clear approach vector toward you they leave?

Potentially, it's novel to have three dogs dive down behind a wall so you can't shoot them. Luckily, I am an enthusiastic fan of grenades.

Have you ever noticed animals and mutants backing off before? I've had a few scrapes with bloodsuckers that turn into horror scenes from the Predator where we take turns strafing after one another through the trees, and half the time they seem to run away after blasting them with buckshot.

I'd need more data, but they tend to run up and take a swing and then vanish off. I've taken to fighting them in doorways and near anomalies to lock off their angles of ingress / escape which has meant I usually kill them fairly painlessly now.

They're easy to juke with that too, a little hop to the side or back and they always seem to miss. They also run super low to the ground when rushing you, so aiming down with a shotgun does wonders.

Boars/fleshes are still weaker from the back too, so I wonder if bloodsuckers also have a weak spot.
