Y'know, I kinda disagree that video games *need* an incentive for replays, at least in the way I see that being brought up.
In my eyes, if the game is good, and I want to get better at it or just experience it again, I'm gonna want to replay it. No life system or achievements needed.

I keep playing final fantasy 9 and final fantasy tactics every year.
Some games just don’t lend themselves to replayed and that’s okay, some games are built around it, and that’s ok.
The bigger issue is when games have "anti-replay value" where some parts are so annoying, they make you go "hmmm maybe not"
