Those funds totally can be redirected, that is the whole point. We can replace teachers and AI providers will "only" charge 80% of all teacher costs, while we will get a 20% competent teacher in their place. But it is cheaper!
Kids learn some language on Duo and math on Khan. It is absolutely not the same as being in a class, but it isn't nothing. But what teachers seem to never want to acknowledge is that school is also childcare. Society basically collapsed w/o in person classes during Covid, and AI can never replace it
Teachers as a whole readily acknowledge that their work has a childcare component to it. Obviously teachers know that students do learn some things on Duo, Khan, or even iReady for that matter. They're tools, that work when guided by a teacher.
Society didn't 'collapse' during the pandemic - it was _collapsed_, in order to reduce the rampaging of a deadly pathogen. Letting children spread diseases to each other and their families and teachers was worse. Masks helped, as well as vaccines; closing schools was a tactic.
So-called "A.I." - Large-Language Models - are mostly meant to allow the further disadvantaging of working class people to improve the profits of tech. I don't doubt the technology might have some uses, but not how it is being used now, with its theft of data for training and high energy use.
Hank Green, Mr. Anderson, and others were teaching electronically like AI 15 years ago - it already exists. While it’s great, there is no replacement for in-person teaching.
Just ask the CEOs making employees return to work for more in-person interaction.
You would think they would know in-person education is superior given the covid delays we've seen from a year of online only education. They can't have it both ways. Either in-person education is necessary or it's not.
And teachers are about much more than just teaching subjects, unless they want the kids to stay alone at home and learn like they probably did. And look how that turned out
There is no replacement for human connection. You'll never get that from an AI teacher. I'm reminded of the babies fed by wire monkeys versus the human caregiver. Small humans need human connection, not a robot.
Teaching is a women-coded profession. Women's value and agency must be destroyed at any cost, so that they will be more appreciative and subservient to smelly guys with weird dicks.

AI will never replace human interaction.
The difference now is, Elon AI has Trump’s ear and pocket.
