How ? when Labour, Tories and Reform all follow neo liberal economics and are firmly under establishment control against wealth redistribution, just exactly how do voters "pressure parties" ?
Do they not realise the only function of existing parties is to defend the wealth transfer system ?

They’re not all the same though, are they. One of them is better.. if not better enough, which is the point.

Choice 1: pressure Labour (the majority of voters aren’t right wing, so Labour should act like it)

Choice 2: basically to split the vote and risk actual fascists for another generation.

For the record Labour ditched its principles when it dropped clause 4, and became Thatcherites in 1997. No party since has been truly left wing with the exception of Corbyn

We already have fascism, its been embedded for a while now. its just emerging into public view but for anyone who has had the willingness to see how choice, narrative and "acceptable" thinking is being moulded, its been obvious since 1979. Blair continued restricting civil liberties, post Thatcher.

They all follow the same fundamental economic wealth transfer system created under Thatcher/Reagan, you can argue there are subtle degrees to the rate and speed of impoverishment, but the system is designed to impoverish the less well off to the benefit of the already wealthy and keep it that way.

voting for labour when they are promising to continue tory policies and attack the most vulnerable comunities in the country is not 'putting pressure' on them
people like me have functionally no access to healthcare, and one of labour's first priorities on gaining power was expanding the attack

I mean, a good start if you want to use your votes to pressure parties would be to abandon the 'vote for whoever to stop the tories' policy
If you tell a party all they need to secure your vote is being not being the tories, they only ever have to offer being slightly better than the tories

The STT.V advice was a bit more involved than that.

The advice depended on what possible outcomes were in a constituency. So in a X/Con seat the advice was vote X. But there are other seats.

If MvtFwd had significantly more reach (please join the mailing list) or more funds they could do more.

Predict LDs do well, Green probably as well. Think it's harder after that. Con defending loads, but Lab seems weak. Who knows that Ref will do.

There have been a lot of Lab defences (I suspect from Councillors who became MPs). They haven't had a stella start in Gov and people like using by-elections to give the national party a kicking. Also UK politics is VERY fractured currently. Quite poss the top 2 will be polling <50% between them soon

I expect the LibDems and Greens will do extremely well in places where they're second to the Tories. Reform will probably make some gains too. Hard to say how Labour will do, but maybe things will be better by then.

Local government reorganisation white paper release today. We’ll find out the government plans for two tier councils with rough timescales.

Strong rumours overnight that the county 2025 elections will be scrapped the existing cllrs given extended terms.
