Reform has been pretty canny in their choice of candidate tbf. But the East Riding has voted in Tory MPs for ever, and both Hull & the E Riding were heavily pro-brexit, so unfortunately this seems like a foregone conclusion to me.

They have, and for those reasons he was always going to be a challenger. But following the disastrous TV appearances, he so out of his depth, why would anyone but the Reform hard-core possibly see Campbell as a credible choice? But obviously, in these tory strongholds, stupidity reins supreme.

I watched the hustings that Tim Iredale chaired. Luke Campbell’s mantra seemed to be ‘I’m not a politician’. He didn’t seem to say ‘As a Reform Mayor I’ll do XYZ’. Why not stand as an Independent? I look forward to the manifesto from the winning candidate on day one.

That would mean scrutiny, and Reform don't do that. Richard Tice was on LBC and wouldn't answer questions about what quangos would be cut under a reform government. He said something along the lines of the media would challenge it, which he didn't seem to want

He does. But he's so far away. If I were still up there, I'd follow my conscience go Green, as voting tactically seems unnecessary unless the polls are catastrophically wrong. Which is a hope.

Good question. I'd say look to who is most likely to win out of those who aren't obsessed with identity politics. Although if this poll is to be believed, then there's not much point in voting tactically, so whoever you'd like if Campbell is going to win anyway. As you say; it's depressing 😔
