As soon as I got an e-bike in 2019, I began commuting on it 5 days a week instead of 1 day/week on my regular bike.
This also doesn’t even account for hilly cities like Seattle and SF where e-bikes suddenly open the doors to many more routes around town.

The “E-Bike Effect:” Those who bought e-bikes increased their average daily bicycle use from 2.1km (1.3 miles) to 9.2km (5.7 miles), a 340% increase. The e-bike share of all their transportation increased dramatically too; from 17% to 49%.
E-bikes support fewer car trips.

Sadly this is the reality for many US cities but every little aspect helps.
Does driving take muscle power? Sure, to move your foot from the gas to the brakes.
Does taking transit take muscle power? Sure, to step onto the bus or train.
But does anyone think about those modes like that? No! I think e-bikes shouldn’t be an exception.
