Anyone can be at risk of long-term effects from Covid. It doesn't matter how old you are, how fit you are, whether you eat healthy, exercise or get lots of sun. You can still develop long covid and post-viral organ damage

Very much so. Just learned of a healthy fit teenager getting Long COVID and know quite a few endurance athletes who had to give up their jobs because of it. All of them vaccinated, almost almost all of them with 'mild' omicron and all from a 'mild' initial infection.
In a morbid way, I was relieved to read this. Not an athlete & not young, I didn't even know I had covid till a compulsory test. But it only took another few weeks before my life went bad. If I couldn't work from home I would've had to give up work. My brain was ok but the chronic fatigue 😢
I know someone (vaxxed & relaxed) who had a massive stroke. They didn’t have any risk factors. Now, they’re homebound, unable to work, in a wheel chair, & needing in home care. Before they were a cyclist, runner, & business owner. Did COVID cause this? We’ll never know, but probably.
And, at least at the moment, there's no known fix once long covid sets in, even though some people do improve, it might not return to 100%. It's a gamble to play with your future with unknown personal odds.
The disability and long COVID advocates need to help convey this.
Watching @americanheart.bsky.social telling people they need to get sicker in order to be healthier clearly speaks to how the message has been completely broken.
COVID damages everyone. If you’ve had it, you’re already disabled.
