It's been a long time since Private Eye's satire has made me audibly wince, but this is so to the point if it were a knife people would demand it be banned.

Reminds me of the analogy of society. The few people in the front carriage of a train are driving society onwards. Sweating, working. Everyone else, the majority in the train carrages behind are just passengers. Just sitting there weighing the train down and expecting to get to their destination.
Since the heights of XR and net zero targets being introduced everywhere, it definitely seems like the wind has come out of the sails. The mood music has definitely changed. Just look at all the oil majors not being ashamed to drop their renewables investments.
Being optimistic you may have misjudged why they are dropping their renewables investments - I think it's because they have missed the boat and realised that they have no competitive advantage there. They are chemicals companies and are retrenching to that.
I admire your optimism. The investment environment for offshore wind has been more challenging the last few years, so I guess that might also have contributed. In which areas do you think they don’t have competitive advantage?
