Ahhhh. I feel satisfied. I've found you. The horror fans. The spooky artists and writers. The goths and goth-adjacent folks. Welcome! In lieu of anything dark (because this is a new phone), here's a cross fox. π€

I never understood why photographers feel the need to oversaturate/over-contrast their photos of these lovely animals. The real cross fox coloration is quite pretty.
Thank you, I tried so long to search for one that wasnβt modified, and I kept telling people βthatβs not a natural color, thereβs no way a fox looks like thatβ glad to finally see them in their true colors, they are beautiful creatures.οΏΌ
Wikimedia Commons is a great place because it's not dominated by algorithms. (Plus it's a wonderful source of Creative Commons licensed and public domain pics!)
I found that same photo a few months ago searching for melanistic animals. I had the idea that if there were albino animals, then perhaps the opposite coloration was possible, too. I got as far as sixteen creatures, though only a few kinds were orange as well as black. Iβll post a few.
Wow, a fox just like this crossed my path during a long pandemic walk...it was 10am and the glow of red thru black mesmerized me, then when it stopped and stared back I may have entered an alternate world. Is this the way back?
