Thanks, but wow, that report is infuriatingly vague. The risk, it says, is from ‘chewable treats of different shapes and sizes’. Er… Is the risk from chemicals or from swallowing, causing obstruction? How do you tell if you are buying a good quality product? What poor reporting. ☹️
There’s an article in the Sun but didn’t want to share from that source! I avoid rawhide but find frozen kongs are brilliant for saving my sanity when I want to eat in peace 😆
I’d recommend googling ‘rawhide safe dogs uk’ and you’ll get a list of websites with dog experts and vets stating the possible risks. For labs, who will be able to bite chunks off rawhide, there is a danger that they’ll swallow it- it’s indigestible and can swell and obstruct.
