White middle class woman pisses off the US authorities and pays the price. Why do the British media insist on focusing on these idiots abroad. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Bye bye style book. Alongside American spellings of -ize instead of -ise, now we have the horrible “reach out” in a @theguardian.com headline. Reason #27892 why I cancelled my subscription last week www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Unexpected guests last night after they were locked out of their own chalet because of a booking agent cock up. I know one of them well so it wasn’t weird. I just hope the other three (bankers/CFOs/spooks) appreciated the Labour stickers plastered liberally around the place.

It’s 4:15 and some absolute tosser is setting off fireworks.

In our house, Father Christmas is still Father Christmas, none of this Santa nonsense. Here’s hoping he still answers to our old fashioned moniker tonight 🛷🎅🏼🦌

Pretty sure whoever filmed the Christmas message of the Tory leader of Harrow Council, former head boy at the vile Young Britons Foundation, Paul Osborn, hates him. Spot the rat anyone?

Might just have blown my son’s mind when he learned that the stool he’s using as a shelf for his latest craft project (a recreation of Taylor Swift’s stage on the New Eras tour) was made by my granddad in 1914.

The Swiss government this week has also tightened visas for new immigrants from Ukraine. The S visa was for short term emergency use. Three years (nearly) on, new visas are only for those felling areas actively under attack, as it’s no longer - apparently - an emergency.

One holiday job I worked in BBC canteens and the head chef at 33 Cav showed me how properly to slice tomatoes. They offered me a permanent job soon after. I turned it down. I might not talk into microphones any more but I can still slice a tomato correctly.

Came within 10km of running out of petrol after offering to drive a visitor home without realising they live 5km away, up a one in five hill with no passing places and blimey that was close.

Stupidly excited about this already. The last one in 2023 was amazing, hilarious and bonkers. If anyone wants to come along, let me know.

You know you’re coping when a spider [HUGE] creeps its way across the floor and you don’t immediately scream. And then you feel genuine sorrow when you squash it and put it on the fire 😢🕷️🕸️ 🔥

You get a new white good and you know how it works because it’s just like the one which broke but NO apparently it isn’t and then the NWG pretty much wags its finger at you by refusing to switch off why am I being reproached by a DISHWASHER send help aarghhhhh

It looks like America gets what it deserves. The rest of the world though. We didn’t deserve this.

In case of doubt, listen at 01:01:55 and 01:17:35 www.rts.ch/audio-podcas...

Swiss national radio described this as the most racist Trump rally ever. They said they couldn’t translate some of it because of the vitriol. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...

We don’t get many planes overhead but boy do we know it when EasyJet are in town. Sudden screaming altitude drop, always. Must be part of the training to piss me off

Fucking get in the bin with this shit, Emma Duncan. Wait until you’ve had a kid in school try to jump to their death and then tell me it’s made up. Oh and the neighbouring school had a kid actually take their own life IN SCHOOL. Fuck off.

As the child just said, I’m so lucky to look out of my front door and see this

Another annual ritual ticked off the list. We love this festival even if the chestnuts probably aren’t local and today it rained. Great day out all the same.

Because why not. Blood marvellous music.

Local news. I bloody love it. www.lenouvelliste.ch/valais/chabl...

The Aquadrome in Rickmansworth is little unknown outside SW Herts and NW London. It’s a special place and whenever I’m in the UK, it’s where I go to decompress. Today, despite dire weather warnings from the Met Office which never materialised, it was as always, bloody breathtaking.

Apparently it’s gloomy in London. Sorry not sorry.

I met two Romanian parents at school today (arrival day for boarders, don’t judge me). After doing the welcome and check in formalities, all they wanted to know was, why did Brexit happen. Eight years on and it’s still baffling sensible Europeans.

Team building day update: it was actually bloody marvellous. Proper games like tug of war, relay race, basketball, the shooting bit of biathlon, dodge ball and lots more. I haven’t laughed so much in ages and I WASN’T CRAP. Bravo, school.

Tomorrow is the annual team building nonsense which my school compels us to participate in. I have packed three outfits to cover work, hiking and a sure-fire shit evening meal. EVERYONE HATES THIS STUFF. JUST STOP.

« Admiral » Princess Anne ?

It was lovely to have friends over for lunch today. Good food and good chatting and good French (they are French, handily). I might have missed a nuance of Breton manners and expectations though as they were still here four hours later. EXHAUSTING.

One of Heathrow’s runways is blocked. No idea why. But outbound traffic is suspended.

The purpose of the postmenopausal female is to say “that’s my seat and I’m not moving for you” when a pale stale male is sat in your seat on the plane because he wants to be next to his mistress.

Well that’s not a surprise www.theguardian.com/business/art...
