Fundamentally impossible. It's a hive of Libertarian capitalism. Most of the early innovations were from public research, previously free hobby/tech exchanges and/or large subsidized labs just put into better marketing.

They made people think they were smart. They were just slick.

I grew up there, back when the place was still full of enlightened engineers. In the late ‘90s East coast money began to pour in and now it’s mostly just hype and hubris, an empire becoming consumed by its own decadence

They might want to try offering consumers what they need and/or want too. Their weird obsessions may deeply interest them, but the rest of us just want life on this Earth to continue. AI hoover (vacuum cleaner)? Grand if it works. AI doctor/teacher/lawyer? No, TYVBM

I think it’s irredeemably dead. Too toxic, too self-absorbed, too arrogant to learn lessons and evolve. SV will stagnate and die on the vine.
