This one soars above its contemporaries in its genre. Jubei's a total badass but completely outclassed by The 8 Devils, and needs cunning, wits, infighting among the villains, and Kagero's assistance to defeat them. And the tragic romance gives us a reason to care about our leads. Fantastic.
