Important argument in this thread. I would add that Labour may be missing an important opportunity to shift terms on immigration, towards something more constructive that would make the Reform voice obsolete.

This is the conventional wisdom at Westminster in politics and the media on immigration. It is partly true (this is the issue that got Farage to 14%) but it is also a major simplification involves false premises about attitudes and politics (esp for centre-left parties)
