My mother passed away years ago and her Facebook is set private to friends only. If disconnected, I will lose those memories permanently.

I have old friends from school and university I haven't seen in decades. I would hate to lose the sliver of contact I have remaining with them. Haven't seen or spoken to them since before the millenium... but just in case...

I deleted my account years ago and made a basic one for my local groups, and if they did this with IG I would just look to newsletters from authors and go back to texting or writing to friends.
